温州医科大学是浙江省省属高等院校，浙江省重点建设大学，其前身为温州医科大学。共四个校区，其中两个校区位于温州市区，新校区位于温州市瓯海区茶山高教园区，滨海校区位于温州市洞头县，总占地面积1800亩，校舍建筑面积55万多平方米。学校的前身可追溯到1912年在杭州创办的浙江医学专门学校，1958年8月由浙江医学院从杭州分迁至温州创立，原名“浙江第二医学院”，后改用现名。
